Membership
is very important to any organization. Post 295's membership
goal is 554 members, and now we must work to renew all
members by December 31st, for the 2010 membership year.
2010 Membership Cards have been in
for a while. We are way behind our goal.

POST
COMMANDER'S MESSAGE
Fellow
Legion Family Members,
Hope your holidays have been enjoyable. We are
way behind our membership goal. This is the 1st year in more
that 7 years that we will not be 100% by the 1st week of
January. If your card says 2009, you are expired.
This year I am serving the American Legion as
your Post Commander and 2nd Vice Commander of Southern Maryland
District. That means in 1 year I will be Southern Maryland
District Commander. I cannot do this alone. Your American Legion
Post needs your help. It is not hard, please consider giving so
time to the American Legion. There are so many programs that we
can find something that you like to do where you can help.
Also, I am honored to serve as the 40 & 8's Grand
Chef de Gare (State Commander). The 40 & 8 is an independent, by
invitation, honor society of veterans. But, the 40 & 8 is
mainly comprised of Legionnaires.
Please help me out by renewing your membership
for 2010 early! I now have 2010 membership cards. There are many
reason to renew your membership, from assisting wounded
warriors, providing programs for Children & Youth to
comradeship.
NOW you can even save on your utility bills if
you are living in DE, DC & MD. In VA you can save on your
Natural Gas bill only. Contact me via
email with any questions. The Post receives a donation from
the Coop for every hour of service. So you can save money and
know you will make a difference too.
We are
continuing to provide support to our wounded warriors, although it
will not be as much as we would like to. Our program Operation
Provide Comfort has been a success. We have provided more than
$10,000 in support to our Wounded Warriors at Bethesda Naval
Hospital and Walter Reed.
Sign up 5 new members
and your dues will be paid by the post. Active Duty members wishing
to join the American Legion, must complete and application and
provide proof of Active Duty.
We do not
have a Post home. There are several hurdles to overcome before we
take that step. As a non-profit we accept donations to work
toward a Post home. For the Veterans!
For the
Veteran!
